How is MIS-TLIF used to treat Degenerative Disc Disease.
Patients with degenerative disc disease may have lumbar spinal pain refractory to conservative treatment. A MIS-TLIF is like building a bridge to pain relief. The disc shock absorber is replaced with an interbody cage that provides an anterior column support (bridge abutment) for a biological fusion solution. MIS pedicle screw instrumentation provides posterior tension band support (bridge arch).
