Piriformis Syndrome

Piriformis Syndrome can mimic back pain and sciatica. The piriformis tendon runs close to the sciatic nerve. Inflammation of the tendon can irritate the sciatic nerve. Swelling, hypertrophy and occasionally aberrant anomalies can pinch the sciatic nerve near the sciatic notch.

We specialize in permanently fixing this problem. After medication and injections have failed, we use a minimally invasive surgery to fix the problem. It’s done with a 3-4 centimeter incision and is outpatient. Improvement is seen quickly.
